Located in the Upstate this Elementary School Media Center gets a full renovation to support the needs of its students and bring life back into this space.
The existing space was designed with heavy wooden furniture that is hard for elementary school students to move around and limits the ease of activities in the space.
When thinking about elementary level books, the books The Giving Tree and Rainbow Fish come to mind. These books were used as inspiration for a Woodland and Ocean concept. The school opted to go with the Woodland theme and is incorporating tree murals, new flooring, new paint and new furniture. The final product is a fun, colorful space that is easily reconfigurable. The space features bookcases, a classroom area with tables and chairs, a reading area with low lounge furniture and computer access for the students. The furniture is light-weight and easy for the students to move around.
